WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn and Weyburn Arts Council (WAC) are pleased to announce Christopher Borshowa as the 2019 James Weir People’s Choice (JWPC) winner.
Marilyn Nelson and Heather van der Breggen placed second and third, respectively. The 2019 JWPC is the 35th year of this groundbreaking exhibit, the longest running show of its kind in Western Canada.
Every January/February since it began in 1984, the Allie Griffin Art Gallery has hosted this multi-artist show, where the public is invited to vote for their favourites. Due to advancements in the application process, this was the first year voters not only included Weyburn residents but saw representation from outside Saskatchewan and Canada.
