WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn Parks Department is performing basal spraying operations to elm trees starting in the northwest corner of the City for the control of Dutch Elm Disease.
The area includes Elgin St., Scott St., Scott Cres., 1st , 2nd, 3rd Ave NW and Saskatchewan Drive.
Elm trees on 9th St. to 13th St. and Bison Ave. to East Ave. will also be treated following the northwest corner of the city.
Affected residents have been individually informed regarding this work.
Operations will be conducted Sept. 24, 2019 through Sept. 26, 2019 (weather permitting) between the hours of 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will halt between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and over the lunch hour when school children may be present.
For your safety, please avoid workers while they are basal spraying.
Orange flagging tape is being used to indicate which trees have been treated. Children and pets should be kept away from flagged trees for a period of 24 hours.
