WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn is asking residents to not damage trees on public property.
A spruce tree at the Hillcrest Cemetery was recently cut and removed from the community memorial site. This specific tree was donated through the City’s Plant-A-Tree program in memory of loved one.
While to some it may seem harmless to cut a tree and take it home, this is vandalism and destruction of public property. There are many alternatives in the Weyburn area to purchase spruce trees for the holiday season.
If anyone witnesses destruction to City-owned trees or other property in community parks, please contact the Parks Department at (306) 848-3290 or call the Weyburn Police Service at (306) 848-3250.
