WEYBURN – Every business in Weyburn requires a business licence if they intend to operate within the City of Weyburn boundaries.
As COVID-19 restrictions relax and door-to-door sales activities are permitted in Re-Open Saskatchewan guidelines, the City is reminding its residents and direct sellers of provincial and municipal requirements.
Direct sellers and their salespeople must have a valid provincial licence and a City of Weyburn non-residential business licence. It is an offence to operate a direct sellers business or make direct sales without first obtaining a license.
Learn more about City of Weyburn business licensing here. Learn more about the Direct Sellers Act on the provincial Financial and Consumers Affairs Authority website.
As a resident, you are encouraged to ask door-to-door salespeople for proof of licences. Learn how to recognize, reject and report fraud, scams or misleading claims on the Government of Canada website and reports should be made to local police for enforcement at (306) 848-3250.
