The City of Weyburn’s tree pruning program for 2021 is nearly complete, with only Windsor St. and a few identified singular trees left to be addressed.
Green Drop Ltd. will be in the City in late June to complete the tree pruning program.
Throughout the month of June, Green Drop will carry out the City’s 2021 tree inventory project. More details to come.

The 300 to 400 block of 2nd St. NE will be closed to local traffic only starting May 27 due to the City’s tree pruning program.
This work will take a couple days to complete, so the City asks drivers to plan alternate routes to avoid the area.
Residents should remove parked vehicles from the street to allow crews proper access for pruning.

The city tree pruning program will continue on the 700 block of Rick Smith Cres., starting May 26 and will continue for a couple days.

The 100 and 200 block of Ash Dr. has been identified for this year’s spring tree pruning program, and work will begin in the area on May 18.
City-owned trees are part of the City’s urban forest. Decorations or objects fastened to these public trees is prohibited and the City asks residents remove any items that may obstruct proper tree pruning.
Residents are also asked to remove vehicles from the street to allow crews access to city-owned trees.

On May 7, starting at 8 a.m., the 700 block of Brimacombe Dr. will be closed (access for local traffic) due to the City’s tree pruning program.

WEYBURN – Starting this spring, the City of Weyburn’s 2021 tree pruning maintenance program will begin and continue throughout the fall.
On Thursday, May 6, the 800 block of Brimacombe Dr. will be closed, with access for local traffic only, between 5th Ave. N and 13th St. starting at 8 a.m. Residents are asked to remove vehicles from the street to allow crews proper access for tree pruning.
Once work is completed in the area, crews will proceed to the 700 and 600 blocks of Brimacombe Dr., between 13th St. and Douglas. “No Parking Zone” signage will be placed on city-owned trees to remind residents to remove vehicles from the street.
In March, Weyburn City Council awarded Green Drop Ltd. the contract to assist the City’s parks department with the tree pruning of city-owned tree on several boulevards throughout the community.
The City has identified the following priority areas for the 2021 program, consisting of an estimated 382 trees to be pruned. *Areas may not be addressed in the order below:

The City of Weyburn is currently responsible for over 7,000 city-owned trees throughout its urban forest which require ongoing maintenance and pruning to help them thrive.
