If you prefer to vote by mail, you can apply for a mail-in ballot by following these steps.
Step 1
Make sure you are eligible to vote in Weyburn’s municipal byelection.
Ensure you meet the voting criteria and have proper ID to vote by November 13, 2024.
Step 2
Eligible voters can apply for a mail-in ballot with the Returning Officer in-person at City Hall, 157 3rd Street or electronically:
- Electronic registration (NOTE: must have an eligible voter to sign as a witness)
- In-person registration
The deadline for a voter wishing to receive a mail-in ballot application via Canada Post Mail is Thursday, October 31, 2024.
The deadline for a mail-in ballot application may be made in person and received by the Returning Officer or other designated election official on or before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12.
If registering electronically, applications must be submitted by email to election@weyburn.ca by 4:00 p.m. on October 31, 2024.
Step 3
Once your application has been returned to the election office at city hall, eligible voters will then receive a ballot package.
In the package you will receive:
- envelopes
- your ballot
- instructions
To ensure you receive your ballot package by mail, apply before October 31, 2024.
Fill-in the ballot and return to the election office at city hall by 8:00 p.m. on November 13, 2024.
Important to remember
- After October 31, you must apply for mail-in ballot packages in-person at city hall.
- Mail-in ballots must be returned to the election office before 8 p.m. on election day (November 13) in order to be counted.
