As part of a project with the Southeast Saskatchewan Airshed Association (SESAA), the City of Weyburn installed a PurpleAir monitor in 2022 at its Lift Station No. 1.
The monitor measures the PM2.5 (fine particulate matter) which is an air pollutant that is a concern for people’s health when levels in the air are high. The monitor reports on the Air Quality Index (AQI) in real-time, every 10 minutes.
