When property owners receive improvements to their street or neighbourhood, the costs of these improvements are shared between the adjacent owners and the City.
Property owners will be given notice of the intent to proceed with an improvement and will have the option to petition against the work.
Local improvements will be billed to the property owner for their share of the cost of the improvement in the year following construction. Property owners will have the option to pay the full portion of the charge by the due date or pay through annual installments with their property taxes.
