On August 1, 1984, the Albert Douglas dam, located at Nickle Lake was officially opened.
The dam was built to ensure a dependable water reservoir for the City of Weyburn and to enlarge Nickle Lake for recreational purposes.
Water is pumped to the Water Treatment Plant, where it is treated and then distributed throughout the City. Nickle Lake is also a source of recreation for local residents and tourists alike, for swimming, boating, water sports & fishing.
