The City of Weyburn has an Environmental Committee. This committee is made up of 7 members, and they meet once a month. They aim to support and provide education on available methods of recycling and environmentally friendly practices in Weyburn.
The City believes that tackling litter and properly disposing of waste are simple actions our residents can take to make our community a safer and more attractive place to live, play and work.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, the 2021 campaign encourages family or small group participation in neighbourhoods.

Household Hazardous Waste Day
Household Hazardous Waste Day (HHWD) is an annual event usually hosted in the spring by the City of Weyburn. This day is to help residents dispose of household hazardous wastes safely.
Hazardous wastes include household chemicals, light bulbs, batteries, medications, and more. These materials will be recycled and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
The 2021 HHWD is scheduled for June 11, 2021. Return back to this page closer to the date for the details!
The Repair Cafe is an event held by the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council in municipalities across Saskatchewan. It is a pop-up, one day event where visitors can bring in household items in need of repair. Repair experts volunteer their time to fix the items and teach their skills.
Repair Cafes reduce waste, as most people throw items away when they stop working, even though one simple repair could make them work good as new. The Repair Cafe changes people’s mindsets about their possessions.
Repair Cafes accept anything from clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, and more.
**Due to COVID-19 restrictions this event has been postponed until further notice.
