Weyburn is fully serviced with the elements of modern infrastructure. Affordable electricity through SaskPower, inexpensive natural gas through SaskEnergy, and one of the world’s most extensive fibre-optic based telecommunications systems through SaskTel, featuring full digital switching.
Local water supply is amply provided from a major river reservoir, and Weyburn’s superior water system now services a large surrounding rural area. The sewage system is modern and upgraded to secondary treatment level.
Media communications include two local newspapers, a radio station and a cable television service supplying international channels.
Transportation routes are maintained by a first-class city maintenance program, well-equipped provincial crews on our three highways, and a high standard of maintenance for the Weyburn Airport runway and facilities. Security is ensured through a City Police Force, a detachment of the RCMP, an emergency measures unit, an ambulance service and a fire department with three pumpers and an 50′ Telesquirt. We also have a vehicle extrication unit operated by Weyburn & District Rescue Inc.
