The City of Weyburn designates certain roads or areas for use by trucks. These are shown on the Truck Route Map.
Bylaw #2021.3420, being the Weyburn Traffic Bylaw, states that:
- No person shall operate any vehicle within the City of Weyburn that exceeds the legal allowable weight limitations of a road or in in contravention of the Province of Saskatchewan Vehicle Weights and Dimensions Regulation. (Regulations can be found in the Guide to Saskatchewan Weights and Dimensions)
- Any person transporting any oversize load (weight or dimensions) shall provide to the City of Weyburn copies of any permits issued by the Province of Saskatchewan a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the lade being moved through or about the City of Weyburn.
It is an offence to drive off of a truck route. No person shall drive or park a heavy vehicle on any highway not designated as a truck route, except:
- Where the owner or operator of the vehicle has obtained a permit to do so form the Director and then only according to the terms of that permit and provided the permit is in the vehicle and available for inspection by the police;
- To pickup or deliver cargo transported by the vehicle, in which case the vehicle must follow the most direct route to and from the truck route.
