Water Conservation

The City regulates and manages conservation of water through year-round water restrictions:

• Consumers are prohibited from wasting water. Wasting of water includes things like broken sprinklers, improper lawn waters (i.e. spraying onto driveways, sidewalks, etc.), watering exceeding 60 minutes, washing of driveways or private walkways and filling dugouts or other reservoirs.
• “Waterless Wednesdays” where no outside use of City water for lawn or garden watering is allowed.
• Odd numbered street addresses may water lawns and gardens on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays; even numbered street addresses may water lawns and gardens on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
• Lawn and garden watering is not allowed between 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (on days watering is permitted).

If you are planting seed or laying new sod, you may apply for a Watering Exemption Permit, which allows you additional watering time for a three (3) week period. Return completed form to the Engineering Department at City Hall.

Make every drop count 

1. Be conscientious – saving water doesn’t mean you have to do without.
2. Be aware of the water you are using.
3. If we each save a little, together we save a lot.
