WEYBURN – To help prepare those interested in municipal governance and to encourage participation in the upcoming municipal election on Nov. 9, the City of Weyburn is highlighting free municipal governance virtual sessions hosted by the Municipalities of Saskatchewan (MOS).
The educations sessions are designed for everyone who has an interest in municipal politics or who is thinking of running for council.
On Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m., the first one-hour session in the series is Municipal Governance 101: Introduction to Local Government, which will cover what the role of council is, what your responsibilities are as a councillor and more.
On Sept. 8, 9, and 10, MOS will be holding three separate sessions where residents from cities, towns, and villages will have the chance to ask a panel of individuals experienced in municipal governance their questions.
Registration is required for these sessions and more information can be found on the MOS website.
