WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn Leisure Services Commission provided an update today at a Weyburn City Council meeting that funds through the Sask Lotteries Community Grant Program have been allocated to a number of local organizations.
Councillor John Corrigan announced that more than $50,000 is going towards 28 Weyburn non-profit and charitable organizations for their 2021-22 programming.
Organizations such as cities, towns, rural municipalities are eligible to receive the Sask Lotteries funding. These authorities distribute funds to local non-profit groups for programming that develops sport, culture and recreation.
“This funding directly benefits deserving local organizations,” said Coun. Corrigan. “It helps ensure Weyburn has quality sport, culture and recreation activities that are volunteer-operated, and supports programming that is unique to our community.”
