WEYBURN – 2021 is a revaluation year for property assessments by the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Association (SAMA).
SAMA is responsible for property assessment in the City of Weyburn. Revaluation is done every four years through a provincially mandated formula. The 2021 property assessment notices were mailed on May 18 to City of Weyburn residents.
The assessment roll is now open for inspection until July 19, 2021 and can be viewed at City Hall during regular office hours (Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and due to COVID-19 guidelines appointments to view must be made in advance by calling (306) 848-3205.
Residents are able to appeal their assessed value through the City’s third-party board of revision, Krismer & Associates. If residents disagrees with their assessed values, or wish to file an appeal due to an error in the assessment, the deadline to do so is Monday, July 19, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.
You can appeal your assessment against one of the following:
- Assessment valuation (value of the land, value of the improvements (buildings), or both)
- Assessment classification (land classification, or improvement classification, or both classifications)
- Exemption status
- Errors in the content or preparation of the assessment roll
- Errors in the content or preparation of the assessment notice
