WEYBURN – At the regular meeting of Weyburn City Council on Tuesday, Mayor Roy proclaimed June 13-19, 2021 as Native Prairie Appreciation Week (NPAW) in the City of Weyburn.
NPAW is a week promoted by the Saskatchewan Prairie Conservation Action Plan (SPCAP), declared jointly by the Saskatchewan Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, and celebrated the third week of June since 1999.
NPAW if an opportunity for all Saskatchewan residents to go outside and explore native prairie, whether it’s right in your backyard or a short drive to the country. Saskatchewan ranchers, naturalists, hunters, educators and resource agency specialists, use this week to recognize and celebrate the diverse value of native prairie.
