Local U18 AAA female hockey team will volunteer for a one-time event
WEYBURN – The Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings have partnered with the City of Weyburn to supervise the afternoon public skating session on Nov. 25.
The free skating event on Friday from 1:15-3:15 p.m. at Tom Zandee Sports Arena is sponsored by the City of Weyburn. The Gold Wings will be on the ice to chaperon and engage with public skaters.
“We are very excited to be partnering up with the City. Our team has a strong passion to give back to the community in many ways,” said head coach Chandy Kaip. “They all enjoy working with our youth. It is great to have many kids see these amazing role models, excelling in their academics, on the ice and giving back to our great City.”
“It is wonderful to have this team on the ice with our public skaters to engage with them and promote the City’s community leisure events,” said Tina Clay, program manager with the City of Weyburn.
This is a public skating event; no pucks and sticks are allowed on the ice during public skating times.
