UPDATE February 27 @ 6:45 p.m.
A message from director of Parks and Leisure Services, Andrew Crowe:
Thank you to the community for your patience with the recent breakdowns that have been occurring at the Weyburn Leisure Centre. We are equally if not, more frustrated with the number of times we have had to close the doors in recent months due to unwanted shutdowns stemming from issues beyond our control.
The Leisure Service department aims to provide optimal service to the community and we do all we can to ensure our facilities are operating effectively and open to our users.
Unfortunately over the weekend, we experienced a pinhole on a section of 6inch black iron pipe which was replaced in 2014 when boiler system upgrades were completed. This has caused us to shut down the heating system until repairs can be completed.
We are hoping that all repairs are completed and the system is operating at full capacity later on this week.
UPDATE February 27 @ 1:45 p.m.
The indoor pool will remain closed on Feb. 28 and regular scheduled programming has been cancelled until further notice.
We thank the public and users of the Weyburn Leisure Centre for their patience during this time.
A more detailed update will be provided at the regular scheduled meeting of City Council on Monday, Feb. 27.
