Weyburn— The City of Weyburn is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Young Fellows Club of Weyburn, who have generously committed to the naming rights for the park to be developed on the former Haig School grounds. This exciting agreement marks another significant collaboration between the City and the Young Fellows, further enhancing Weyburn’s recreational spaces.
The 20-year naming rights agreement, valued at $220,000, includes $200,000 in funding allocated to the park’s development phases, along with $20,000 of in-kind volunteer assistance from the Club’s members. This contribution highlights the Young Fellows’ ongoing commitment to enhancing the community and creating spaces where families can come together and enjoy outdoor activities.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Young Fellows Club of Weyburn on this project,” said Andrew Crowe, Director of Leisure Services for the City of Weyburn. “Their continued dedication to supporting recreational initiatives in our city, particularly with this new park located near the Young Fellows Paddling Pool, will undoubtedly make a lasting impact on our community.”
Ray Jarvis of the Young Fellows Club of Weyburn shared their enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Our club has always been focused on giving back to the community and creating spaces where families can connect and children can play. This new park will be a fantastic addition to Weyburn, and we’re proud to be part of its development.”
The park, is set to become a centerpiece for outdoor activities in Weyburn. The City looks forward to working closely with the Young Fellows Club throughout the development process and celebrating the park’s completion with the community.
