WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn is inviting local high school students to lend their voices and ideas to the community through the Weyburn Youth Council.
The application deadline has been extended to Oct. 31, giving Grade 10-12 students from Weyburn Comprehensive School more time to apply for this unique opportunity to influence municipal decisions and amplify the perspectives of local youth.
Youth Council members play an active role in the city’s governance by participating in City Council meetings, holding monthly discussions on key community issues, and offering recommendations on municipal matters that directly impact their generation.
“The Youth Council has been a platform for real change,” said outgoing Youth Mayor Nikola Erasmus. “It allows the voice of youth to be heard and make meaningful contributions that shape our city’s future.”
Applications are open until Oct. 31 and can be submitted through the City of Weyburn website at www.weyburn.ca/youth-council.
