WEYBURN– The official results for the 2024 Weyburn Municipal Election, held on November 13, have been confirmed. Jeff Richards has been elected as Mayor of Weyburn. The City congratulates Mayor Richards on his election and extends its gratitude to all candidates who participated in this important process.
The six City Councillor positions will be filled by Todd Bedore, John Corrigan, Larry Heggs, Ryan Janke, Laura Morrissette, and Kellie Sidloski. The City welcomes the newly elected Council members and acknowledges the efforts of all candidates who ran, demonstrating their dedication to serving the community.
A total of 2,655 ballots were cast in the election, reflecting participation from advance polls, special polls, the regular poll, and mail-in ballots. This strong turnout underscores Weyburn’s commitment to an engaged and vibrant democratic process.
Bruno Tuchscherer and Jerome Sidloski were declared by acclamation as trustees for the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 140.
Megan Schick and Norma Hewitt-Lundrum were declared by acclamation as trustees for the South East Cornerstone Public School Division No. 209.
Returning Officer Tina Clay shared her appreciation, saying, “We are thrilled with the high voter turnout in this election, which demonstrates the strong civic spirit in Weyburn. We sincerely thank all candidates for their contributions and every resident who took the time to vote. Your participation is vital to shaping the future of our community.”
