WEYBURN–
The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency’s Screening Program for Breast Cancer mobile mammography bus will be in Weyburn from January 6 to February 14, 2025 (weekdays only). The bus will be parked at the back of the Coast Weyburn Hotel (formerly the Canalta), providing convenient access for residents.
The City of Weyburn urges women aged50 years and older to take advantage of this important screening opportunity. Early detection is key in helping find breast cancer early, which can allow for better treatment options and health outcomes, and the mobile service ensures accessibility for residents. To book a screening mammogram, please call 1-855-584-8228. Limited appointments are available, so early booking is encouraged. Starting January 2, 2025, women aged 47–49, with no breast symptoms, can call to book their mammogram.
“Regular breast cancer screening is a vital step in maintaining health, especially for women in the recommended age group,” said Laurie Pearce, Early Detection Coordinator. “We’re proud to offer this mobile service to help women across Saskatchewan access high-quality screening close to home. Early detection truly saves lives.”
Breast cancer screening is a quick and effective way to detect changes that may require further investigation. The mobile unit is equipped with proper medical technology and staffed by trained professionals committed to making the experience as comfortable as possible.
The City of Weyburn remains dedicated to the well-being of its residents and strongly encourages eligible women to book their mammogram today. For additional information, visit SaskCancer.ca.
