Weyburn– The Weyburn Police Service proudly hosted a swearing-in ceremony on January 2, 2025, marking two key appointments within the organization. The event, held at 11 a.m. at the Weyburn Police Station, saw Mayor Jeff Richards sworn in as a member of the Weyburn Board of Police Commissioners and Brandon Brown sworn in as a new police officer.
Richards’ appointment to the Police Commission reflects his strong commitment to the Weyburn community, “I am honored to join the Weyburn Board of Police Commissioners and look forward to working collaboratively to ensure effective policing for our community.”
Brandon Brown’s swearing-in marked the beginning of his career in law enforcement. Brown will attend Police College starting January 6, 2025.
Deputy Police Chief Shane St. John praised the appointments, stating, “Today’s ceremony highlights the strength of our team and our commitment to the community. We welcome Mayor Jeff Richards to the Wyburn Police Commission and look forward to seeing Brandon Brown grow into his role as a police officer in our community.”
The ceremony brought together family, colleagues, and community members, celebrating these important milestones for the Weyburn Police Service and its continued dedication to excellence in public safety and governance.
