Environment Canada is calling for a period of warm to hot weather across parts of southern Saskatchewan.
- Timeframe: Tuesday–Thursday
- Highs: 32–34°C (Humidex 38–40) on Tuesday and Wednesday
Cooler conditions are expected from Wednesday night into Thursday. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts from Environment Canada.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions may lead to heat illnesses (heat exhaustion or heat stroke). Some people are at higher risk, including older adults, infants and young children, people who work or exercise in the heat, and those with certain medical conditions.
Early signs of heat exhaustion can include headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine, and intense fatigue. If these appear, stop activity, move to a cool place, and drink water.
Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Call 911 if you or someone else has hot, red skin; confusion; nausea; dizziness; a rapid pulse; or a change in consciousness. While waiting for help: move the person to a cool place, remove extra clothing, and apply cool water or ice packs to the neck, armpits, and groin.
