The City of Weyburn is completing an accessibility and safety upgrade at the Whitecap Resources Centre, with installation of new custom handrails currently underway in the spectator seating areas.
The project, delivered in partnership with Stewart Steel and under the guidance of PBI Building Inspectors, has involved the design, engineering, and fabrication of handrails that meet current building code requirements. This improvement addresses areas where the need for additional handrails has been identified, enhancing safety and accessibility for spectators of all ages.
This work reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to reducing barriers and creating more inclusive public spaces, as outlined in the City of Weyburn’s Accessibility Plan. The plan guides how the City identifies and addresses accessibility needs across its facilities, services, and programs. Learn more weyburn.ca/accessibility.
The City thanks its local partners for their expertise and professionalism, and facility users for their patience during installation.
