Weyburn City Council passed a resolution at its Sept. 9 Special Meeting for the City of Weyburn to apply to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) to be designated an eligible area under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) following substantial damage caused by the Sept. 7 rainfall event.
PDAP provides financial assistance to eligible communities and residents for restoring essential services and property following eligible natural disasters.
The City is now awaiting further information from the Government of Saskatchewan regarding the application process and next steps.

The City of Weyburn is providing notice that a Special Meeting of City Council will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at 12:15 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
The meeting has been called for Council to discuss the City’s Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) submission in response to the Sept. 7 flooding in Weyburn.
Notice of the Special Council Meeting is being provided in accordance with Section 6 of the City of Weyburn Council Procedure Bylaw No. 2018-3390, including all amendments, and Section 97 of The Cities Act.
Additional information regarding Council’s decision and next steps will be shared following the meeting.
