Hillcrest Cemetery, located along Provincial Highway #35 on the southern limits of the City of Weyburn, was opened around 1926 and replaced Horne Cemetery.
A walk-through the old area of the cemetery reveals monuments to the early life in Weyburn. The people who built Weyburn are visible in names such as Mitchell, Eaglesham and Moffet.
You will also find the Veteran’s section which pays tribute to airmen from Canada and foreign countries, who gave their lives while training at the Weyburn Air Training School.
The City of Weyburn maintains the cemetery and only has records of the names, dates of death and locations of people interred in the cemetery. These records are in the custody of the Parks Department and can be viewed on the City of Weyburn cemetery webpage.
