Until 1907, the City of Weyburn, (not having city status yet) was governed by committees. Prior to 1908, the Water, Fire & Lighting Committee was responsible for what, in 1908, became the Weyburn Fire Brigade.
Chief Gallagher appears to have been the only fire chief prior to 1918. In 1918 Chief George Whincup took over holding the position until his death at age 47 in 1937.
