The City of Weyburn through its sign permits ensures signs are structurally sound, do not interfere with traffic visibility or pedestrian safety, and are located appropriately on a property. These permits allow for consistent standards across the community so businesses can operate under the same rules and neighbourhoods remain attractive and orderly.
What you need to know
Before you order, print or install signage, most permanent and portable signs require a permit under the City’s Zoning Bylaw, including wall or fence signs, window signs, freestanding signs and portable signs.
The City conforms to regulations within its Zoning Bylaw pertaining to size, height number, location and type. Sign regulations can be found in Section 4.8 of the City of Weyburn Zoning Bylaw.
The public is encouraged to contact the Planning Department with:
- The type of sign
- The address
- A photo or sketch of what you’re planning
Contact the Planning Coordinator at (306) 848-3225 or planning@weyburn.ca for permitting. Application forms can be found here.
