Under the authority of the Urban Municipality Act, City of Weyburn Bylaw No. 95-1896 is in effect to regulate and control the condition of untidy and unsightly premises. Notice is served on the owner or occupant of the land or buildings that have been declared untidy or unsightly, and an order issued to remedy the untidiness and/or unsightliness within ten days. The owner/occupant is given an opportunity to dispute the order, request further time to comply with the order, or otherwise show cause why the work should not be proceeded with. If the owner or occupant fails to comply with the order within the time specified by that order, the owner or occupant is subject to a penalty of $50 for the first violation, $100 for the second violation, and $200 for each subsequent violation. The City of Weyburn may proceed to carry out the work required, and the cost of the said work will be added to the taxes of the property.
