Unfavourable weather conditions starting late September interrupts paving plans on Government Rd.
WEYBURN – Due to unexpected weather conditions, paving work has been suspended on Government Rd. until the climate is suitable to continue.
The City of Weyburn’s engineering department has been advised by project contractors to halt the temporary asphalt paving scheduled for the first week of October; a reassessment will be done after the Thanksgiving long weekend.
In the case of unfavourable weather conditions continuing, a gravel layer will be established so traffic may use Government Rd. during the winter months.
At the regular meeting of Weyburn City Council on Aug. 27, an update was given on the Government Rd. replacement project. The sewer and water line replacement concluded in early September and final resurfacing will be completed in spring of 2019.
