WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 90 have a new collective agreement. CUPE ratified the collective agreement on Oct. 16, 2018, and Weyburn City Council voted in favour of the agreement on Oct. 22, 2018.
“We are pleased to have reached a final agreement that is fair and reasonable for both our employees and our tax payers in the City of Weyburn,” said City Manager Mathew Warren. “This collective agreement is a positive step forward in the relationship between the city and its workers.”
The four-year collective agreement will cover 90 City of Weyburn employees and is effective from Jan. 1, 2017 to Dec. 31, 2020. The new agreement includes wage increases in the following amounts:
- 2017 (retroactive) – 1%
- 2018 – 1.5%
- 2019 – 1.5%
- 2020 – 1.5%
