WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn is deeply saddened to learn about the news of at least 751 unmarked graves near the former Marieval Indian Residential School site on Cowessess First Nation.
The flags at Weyburn City Hall were lowered on June 24 in respect and support of those mourning in Cowessess, across our province and across our country.
The findings highlight the pain and suffering connected to the Canadian residential school system. The City of Weyburn shares in the grief and sorrow of the Indigenous community and stands with those who have survived.
