From Jan. 6-26, the City of Weyburn’s Public Works Transportation department completed its yearly residential snow removal program.
Milder weather conditions in January allowed City crews to prioritize neighbourhoods based off the Refuse Collection Areas 1-5. A total of 1,487.5 employee hours and 454.5 contractor hours went into this year’s residential program.
When a winter storm event hits, the City focuses first on priority and secondary routes (view the map here). Throughout November and December, City crews maintained priority, secondary and collector streets after numerous weather events.
“Our staff are doing a tremendous job ensuring our streets are safe and driveable this winter,” said Andrew Williams, transportation manager. “Weyburn received a large amount of snow this season and we are proud of the hardwork of our crews and contractors have put in to get our roads looking the way they are today.”
