Street sweeping, sewer main flushing, pothole patching, road construction and tree pruning are just a few things the City of Weyburn handles during it’s spring operations.
STREET SWEEPING
As of Monday, street sweepers will focus on main routes like Government Rd. and Coteau Ave. Please use caution when passing sweepers and remove vehicles parked from the street to ensure proper sweeping can be done.
The residential street sweeping program typically begins in late spring or early summer. Check back at weyburn.ca for a schedule of when refuse collection areas will be targeted. Learn more about the street sweeping program here.
TREE PRUNING
Tree pruning operations begin Monday. The City contracts Green Drop Ltd. to assist with city-owned boulevards trees.
Please use extra caution when passing tree pruning crews as debris may fall from extreme heights.
POTHOLE PATCHING
The warmer temperatures and drier conditions are allowing crews to continue pothole patching around the city.
The Public Works department has identified priority areas and is working diligently to get to as many streets as possible.
BACK ALLY MAINTENANCE
Graders will begin maintenance on gravel roads within city limits. This includes back alleys.
Please remove any major debris that may be on the edge of your property line to ensure proper grading can be done.
ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Visit our Infrastructure Revitalization Project webpage to see the upcoming projects budgeted for 2023.
As of May 1, 4th St. S is closed for construction. The River Park Campground entrance is closed to traffic for the duration of the project. This work is anticipated to last until May 9.
UTILITIES
The City’s utilities crews focus on sewer main flushing, catch basin repairs and water connection work during its spring operations.
Please be cautious of crews working along streets and please follow detours for local road closures.
