City of Weyburn installs flashing signs to enhance safety for students
This fall, the City of Weyburn recently installed new flashing pedestrian crosswalk signs at Assiniboia Park Elementary School and St. Michael School. The Provincial Traffic Safety Fund program through SGI funded $17,334 for the Weyburn project.
The City of Weyburn has identified these two school zones as high-traffic areas needing additional safety measures.
“We are excited about the new flashing feature of these crosswalks which will create a safer environment for everyone who visits these schools zones,” said City of Weyburn municipal engineer, Renee Cugnet.
The City thanks the Government of Saskatchewan for its traffic safety initiatives and grant programs.
“We are grateful for funding opportunities like this that keep project costs low and demonstrate the province’s attention to safety for our youngest residents,” Cugnet said.
