WEYBURN – The traffic lights at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 16th Street are now operational. Previously a four-way stop, the stop signs have been removed, and drivers are reminded to pay attention to the new traffic signals. This change is expected to improve traffic flow and safety at this busy intersection.
The installation of traffic lights is part of an ongoing effort to enhance transportation infrastructure in Weyburn. With vehicles no longer required to stop at the intersection unless signaled to do so, residents can expect smoother traffic movement and reduced congestion.
The City of Weyburn extends its gratitude to the Province of Saskatchewan’s Traffic Safety Fund for providing funding for this project.
The City encourages all residents and visitors to approach the intersection with caution as they adjust to the new traffic lights.
