WEYBURN, SK – Emergency crews received a call of a vehicle fire on Highway 39 between Government Rd. and 3rd St. at 10:25 a.m. on March 11.
Upon arrival at 10:30 a.m., Weyburn Fire Department crews found significant fire in the cab area of a service truck. The fire was extinguished using a handline with water and foam from Rescue 51. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Weyburn Police Service temporarily closed traffic in both directions while fire crews worked at the scene. EMS assessed the vehicle occupants on scene, and no patients required transport to hospital.
Fire crews remained on scene until the vehicle was removed and debris was cleared from the roadway. The scene was cleared and traffic resumed at 12:17 p.m.
No other vehicles or structures were damaged in the fire.
