With spring underway, the City of Weyburn is beginning preparations for this year’s downtown planters and is asking previous Adopt-a-Planter participants to confirm whether they will be taking part again this season.
Participating groups are asked to reply as soon as possible, and no later than May 8, to assist with organizing the planters for the season.
Groups will receive a $100 pre-paid gift card to purchase flowers for their assigned planter. This is intended as seed funding, and groups are encouraged to fill their planter with flowers for the summer season.
The City will provide watering and fertilizing throughout the summer. Participating groups are also encouraged to help with weeding and deadheading where possible.
Please note that gift cards will not be available at City Hall until Monday, April 20.
The City appreciates the continued support of community groups who help keep downtown Weyburn colourful and welcoming through the summer months.
