See the location of 2026 Tatagwa Tree Day:
Planting begins at 9 a.m. along the Signal Hill Walking Trail, with the event wrapping up around 12 p.m. with a BBQ, refreshments and draw prizes.
A few things to know before you arrive:
- If you need assistance getting to planting location from parking, please let us know. A side-by-side will be available to help transport participants who need it.
- Participants are also welcome to ride a bike from the parking area to the planting site for a quicker trip along the trail.
- Bring water and a lawn chair if you’d like somewhere to sit and take a break during the morning.
- Dress for the weather and for an active morning outdoors.

The City of Weyburn is hosting its annual Tatagwa Tree Day event Aug. 8, 2026 to plant approximately 150 trees along the Tatagwa Trail System.
Registration is open with 50 spots available for individuals or families. Register here.
Tatagwa Tree Day is funded by Sask Lotteries through the Association of Saskatchewan Urban Parks and Conservation Agencies (ASUPCA) and the City of Weyburn. The event takes place in the open land east of Creekside Way, which is the location for future development of the Tatagwa Trail System.
Planting takes place along the Signal Hill Walking Trail and begins at 9 a.m. Holes will be dug prior by the City Parks department. BBQ and refreshments will be provided and with a draw prize to conclude the event around 12 p.m.
Parking is available in the area and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and water to relax and remain hydrated.
The Tatagwa Parkway is 180 acres of urban conservation park adjacent to the Souris River and meanders through the city. Tatagwa Tree Day promotes the benefits of trees within the community which include environmental, aesthetic, economic and social advantages.
