The City of Weyburn is advising residents that pedestrian ramp construction will be taking place at several intersections throughout the community as part of ongoing accessibility and infrastructure improvements.
This work will take place between May 19- 22 at the following locations:
- 2nd St. N & Prairie Ave. (SE and SW corners)
- 3rd St. N & Prairie Ave. (SW corner)
- 3rd St. N & Bison Ave. (NE corner)
- 3rd St. N & Coteau Ave. (NE and NW corners)
- Railway Ave. & 2nd St. N (NW corner)
- Railway Ave. & 3rd St. N (all four corners)
- Railway Ave. & 4th St. N (NW and NE corners)
- Railway Ave. & 5th St. N (NE corner)
During construction, residents can expect temporary pedestrian restrictions in affected areas, particularly at intersections where multiple corners are under construction at the same time.
At this time, no full road closures are anticipated. However, motorists should expect temporary impacts to turning lanes and on-street parking near active work zones.
The intersection at Railway Ave. and 3rd St. N is expected to experience the most significant impacts, as pedestrian ramp construction is planned for all four corners of the intersection. Pedestrians are encouraged to use caution, follow posted signage and allow extra time when travelling through the area.
The City thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as this work is completed to support safer and more accessible pedestrian infrastructure throughout Weyburn.
