The Weyburn Community Committee for Truth and Reconciliation is hosting a Treaty Recognition Ceremony on Sept. 26 at the cenotaph outside Weyburn City Hall (157 3rd St. NE).
A lunch event will continue at Knox Hall (136 2nd St. NE) at noon. Numbers are limited to attend this event.
The City of Weyburn is grateful for the committee hosting this event in the community, and City Council is honoured to welcome guests from Ocean Man First Nation Reserve to Weyburn.
The City of Weyburn recognizes that we are on Treaty 4 land, the traditional home of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota and the homeland of the Metis. The goal of Truth and Reconciliation is better understanding and better relations with our First Nations communities.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is Sept. 30. Learn more about the Government of Canada’s visual elements on the 2022 commemorative poster.
