To honour the importance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the City of Weyburn will officially observe this day on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023 to recognize and commemorate the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
Recognizing this day is an important step in the journey to reconciliation. The following City of Weyburn facilities will be closed on Friday:
- City Hall
- Public Works
Weyburn Leisure CentreCredit Union Spark CentreWeyburn Art Gallery
Area 2 garbage collection for Friday moves to Monday, Oct. 2. Recycling collection for Area 5 will remain on Friday, Sept. 29.
The Weyburn Landfill will be open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sept. 29 and 30. Crescent Point Place and Tom Zandee Sports Arena are also open for scheduled programming.
WAYS TO ENGAGE
A Walk for Reconciliation in Jubilee Park will begin at 1 p.m. on Sept. 30. The public is encouraged to visit the “Treaty Timeline” exhibit setup along the park pathways.
