Not sure what to do with all the leaves in your yard this time of year?
Weyburn residents have various options for disposing of yard waste, but the simplest answer is compost or bag it!
We ask that residents help prevent blocking our catch basins and sewer system; avoid pushing leaves or other materials from your yard and sidewalks onto the road.
LANDFILL COMPOST PILE
The City of Weyburn offers free disposal of certain yard waste in its landfill compost pile.
No charges apply for disposing of:
- Leaves
- Grass clippings
- Garden waste
- Flowerbed waste
- Sod
This type of waste must be bagged when transporting to the landfill, and removed from the bags when disposing into the compost pile.
LANDFILL WOOD PILE
When disposing of wood, charges will be applied at the gate. Materials accepted in the wood pile are:
- Clean lumber (no paint or varnish)
- Trees (cut into small chunks)
- Stumps
- Branches
CURBSIDE GARBAGE
If composting is not an option, residents can put bagged leaves and yard waste in their curbside garbage bin. According the City of Weyburn Refuse Bylaw, loose materials are prohibited.
Tree or shrub clippings should be compacted and tied into small bundles.
